Dilemma…!

In this reference a question aroused in my mind that what bounds a girl to get free from a life where she is not valued, not happy, not respected, every time judged, is it the society we live in or the family that has made a girl to sacrifice all her happiness to be with a person who is totally belongs to a male dominated society?

Traveling through the thoughts I wonder if things were the same as we want but actually, it is not, although we live in the world of dreams where everyone is king or queen of it, but when it comes to reality, things are drastically changed. The thoughts which travel in the mind are the ones we desire to make them ours and the thought of life in which we are living makes our mind confused due to different circumstances of life.

I come across various people in daily life regarding the topic of what actually marriage is! My heart and mind is going through a dilemma as to why people are so much into a relationship that is working on compromises and adjustments. Unlike others, my thinking is somewhat different in this respect as people exactly don’t know what they want from life. Many people have different objectives regarding marriage and its adjustments which everyone does by hook or by crook but if these adjustments become burden then thoughts arise either to leave it or to still continue with such exceptions. This leads me to a girl who narrated to me her story where she was living happily with family and enjoying her college life with friends and after that, she got married due to a regular custom which is followed by every girl that she is meant to get marry and spend life with her husband till death. As time passes she was trying to adjust herself to all the situations of her new life and slowly-slowly things were changing from best to good, good to bad and bad to worst. She used to write every problem in her “DEAR DIARY” as to how she was facing troubles on every step and every day. She was judging how people have double faces and a strong strategies to let another one feel distressed in day-to-day life.

In this reference, a question aroused in my mind that what bounds a girl to get free from a life where she is not valued, not happy, not respected, every time judged, is it the society we live in or the family that has made a girl to sacrifice all her happiness to be with a person who totally belongs to a male-dominated society? Does a girl have no self-respect? A girl is meant to be dominated? A girl is so helpless that she can’t take her own decisions? What kind of dilemma is this in which a girl cannot take any step to get free from such restrictions and can live her own life freely. She is being tortured, abused, physically forced, beaten as well as disrespected.

Then one day after facing all these problems she decided to get free from the depressing marriage she was in because she was tired of all that, but she faced more problems sometimes as she was blamed by society and rejected by her parents for leaving an unhappy marriage. She was being cursed that she only might have done something wrong and now left the house and came back. So she picked all her broken pieces, healed herself, and moved on, and proved herself that she was not meant to be there with a person who doesn’t care for her or valued her. She didn’t let society judge her and make decisions for her. She was helped by her parents later on and is living a better life. Still, some of the girls yet don’t decide to take such a bold step and move on. They continue with it and live an adjusting life. For them there is a message that ‘no matter what self-respect is more important than love and living for one’s own self is greater than everything where the heart, mind, and soul are happy’.
